Heathcote Road bridge update
If you’ve travelled along Heathcote Road at all this year, you’d be aware of the new bridge that has been built parallel to the existing bridge over Woronora River, providing safety and traffic benefits to this critical link between Greater Sydney and Wollongong.
The new bridge opened to traffic in March 2023, under a temporary arrangement to allow maintenance work to be carried out on the original bridge.
According to the NSW Government, work is progressing well, with the project on track for completion in mid-2023.
In mid-June both bridges will open to traffic with eastbound traffic using one lane on the original bridge and westbound traffic using one lane on the new bridge. During this time, work will still occur on the median barriers between the two bridges.
There will be some continued night time closures as they complete the work. For additional information and to help plan any trips through this area, check out the project website…

Ground Control Roster for Round #12
Thanks again to all the extra hands that help to keep the Brumbies running every week. As a community football club, run entirely by volunteers, it’s up to all of us to pitch in and do our bit to keep things going.
So thank you! Thank you!
Without your help there would be no football (or bacon!).
You can view the Ground Control roster on the website linked below.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding Ground Duty, please contact our Draw Secretary Michael Hulskamp (draw_secretary@bangorbrumbies.org.au) as soon as possible.

Brumby of the week!
Our Brumby of the Week for Round 11 is Steph from the W21Cs!
Steph is the team’s goalkeeper and always gives it her all. Despite injuring her shoulder during last week’s game, Steph soldiered on and fronted up to play goalie again this week. After she was struck in the same shoulder during the first half, Steph handed her gloves to a teammate and played a gutsy second half in defence.
Amazing stuff Steph, we hope your shoulder feels better soon!
This week’s honourable mention goes to the U10Bs for not giving up and always trying their best.
Thank you to everyone who sent in a nomination! Who will be our next Brumby of the Week? To nominate a player, send a message to our Facebook page by 9pm Sunday with a photo as well as their name, team and why you think they should be crowned Brumby of the Week.
