Get out and support our teams in the Semi-Finals
Mascots needed
We are looking for U6 and U7 and players to run out with teams at the start of finals matches. Kids need to wear their full Brumbies uniform. They will walk teams out to centre of the field with the ball at kick-off, plus help gather balls where needed and support our teams.
Mascots are needed for all three weeks of the semi-finals, including 5th/6th August, 12th/13th August and possibly 19th/20th August.
Please email technical.director@bangorbrumbies.org.au if you are interested.
Volunteers needed to help Bangor FC host the Finals
The SSFA have nominated our home ground The Ridge to host semi-finals and finals and we need your support to make it work!
Not only is it an honour to have our home ground selected as the finals host, it is also a great opportunity for us to raise some much needed funds through BBQ and canteen sales to improve Bangor FC equipment and facilities.
But if we can’t get volunteers, we can’t host the games. We need people on Ground Control and BBQ duties. Please let us know if you can spare some time on the following finals weekends:
- 5th/6th August
- 12th/13th August
- 19th/20th August
Please contact draw_secretary@bangorbrumbies.org.au if you are able to lend a hand for a few hours.
Come and join the Brumbies Committee
We’ll be holding the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 11th September. All members are welcome to attend to hear about the club and see what goes on behind the scenes to make a season of football.
We are looking for people to join the Brumbies Committee to help out.
Please contact secretary@bangorbrumbies.org.au for details.
Thousands turn out for record attempt
On Thursday afternoon, our Under 10Bs joined over a thousand other people at Seymour Shaw Park in Miranda hoping to break the world record for the World’s Largest Dribble.
The event was conceived by Bangor local Scott Richmond, also known as Ozzie, an Australian kids entertainer and creator of educational video content who hopes to inspire kids to get active and live a healthy lifestyle.
While the attempt fell short of the required 2068 participants, Ozzie was successful in breaking another world record, dribbling a soccer ball more than 300km from Canberra to Sydney.
Ozzie hopes to use this opportunity to raise $100K for charities Fair Game and Sport Access Foundation who provide sporting equipment and programs for kids living in remote and underprivileged areas, as well as supporting kids with a disability to get in sport.

Brumbies go Purple!
Thank you to all the teams who took part in #PlayinPurple last weekend!
#PlayinPurple is a national campaign by PanKind, The Australian Pancreatic Cancer Foundation that raises awareness and critical funds for pancreatic cancer research and patient support.
Pancreatic cancer is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia. The disease has the lowest survival rates of all main cancer types at 12.2% yet, despite these figures, pancreatic cancer trails behind other cancers when it comes to funding for research, receiving less than 8 per cent of the funding available. By investing in ground-breaking research and increasing patient support for Australians impacted by the disease, PanKind hopes to triple the pancreatic cancer survival rate by 2030.

Ground Control Roster for Round #16
Thanks again to all the extra hands that help to keep the Brumbies running every week. As a community football club, run entirely by volunteers, it’s up to all of us to pitch in and do our bit to keep things going.
So thank you! Thank you!
Without your help there would be no football (or bacon!).

Brumbies of the week!
Our Brumbies of the Week for Round 16 are the W15Cs!
This week the W15Cs secured their Minor Premiership with a big win over Heathcote! The girls have had a great season and now sit a massive nine points ahead of their closest rivals with two rounds still to go. A special congratulations goes to Erin who scored her first ever goal in the final minute of the game. Amazing stuff girls!
This week’s honourable mentions go to Jack, Hunter and Kai from the U7Ds who played a great game with only 3 players and still pulled off a 3-2 win as well as the W9Bs who turn up each and every week with smiles on their faces and always try their best.
Thank you to everyone who sent in a nomination! Who will be our next Brumby of the Week? To nominate a player, send a message to our Facebook page by 9pm Sunday with a photo as well as their name, team and why you think they should be crowned Brumby of the Week.
