Match sheets: 4 Simple Tips for Coaches and Managers

A coach or manager from your team must fill in your match sheet every week. This means at both home and away games.

At Billa Road and the Ridge, match sheets can be found at the clubhouse on a table in front of the ground control room. At away games, if you’re not sure where the match sheets are kept, ask at the canteen and they will point you in the correct direction.

Clubs receive a fine for each component of a match sheet that is not correctly filled in. In the first two rounds of the 2023 season, Bangor FC accumulated over $100 in fines.

4 Simple Tips

Here are four simple tips to make sure you get your match sheet right every week. See the sample match sheet below.

1. Identify coach, manager and ground control

Fill in the name of your coach, manager and nominated ground control person (whoever wears your orange vest that week) prior to the start of each match. If your coach or manager is away, you’ll need to nominate someone to take their place.

2. Fill in shirt numbers

For all teams in the Under 12s and above, you will need to make sure all shirt numbers are correctly filled in on the match sheet prior to the start of each match. Coaches and managers can pre-fill shirt numbers using the SSFA MyComp app.

3. Fill in any borrowed players

If you borrow any players they must be listed on the match sheet in the appropriate section prior to the start of each match. You will also need to fill in their team, FFA number and shirt number (for Under 12s and above).

4. Sign the match sheet after every game

At the conclusion of your game, the coach or manager must check the score has been correctly entered by the referee, then sign the bottom of the match sheet.

If you have reason to dispute the score or the eligibility of opposition players, please make a note on the back of the match sheet including your name and signature.

Match Sheets are a simple and effective tool that keep our competitions running smoothly. Please make sure you complete them properly every week.
