Coaches, do you ever struggle to come up with fun and creative ideas for your training sessions? Are you looking for some new skills and drills to challenge your team?

Football Australia has a whole range of resources including session plans, webinars and coach’s newsletter to give you some great ideas.

The MiniRoos Kick-off Sessions will give you a simple framework for planning fun and varied sessions, plus a number of games designed to teach your players important skills and help develop a love of the game.

These training sessions are based on 5 components:

  • Small-Sided Game — start with a fun and free game like street football
  • FUN Football Game — fast, repetitive activities to develop fundamentals
  • Small-Sided Game (with variation) — another fun game, with a twist
  • Physical Literacy Game — fun challenges that develop physical skills
  • Small Sided Game — let them play!

There are also some great ideas for older players to help develop skills and tactical awareness and even some goalkeeping sessions.

We hope you find these sessions useful!

Ground Control Roster for Round #15

Thanks again to all the extra hands that help to keep the Brumbies running every week. As a community football club, run entirely by volunteers, it’s up to all of us to pitch in and do our bit to keep things going.

So thank you! Thank you!

Without your help there would be no football (or bacon!).

You can view the Ground Control roster on the website linked below.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding Ground Duty, please contact our Draw Secretary Michael Hulskamp (draw_secretary@bangorbrumbies.org.au) as soon as possible.

Brumbies of the week!

Our Brumbies of the Week for Round 14 are W11As

This week the W11As celebrated their first win of the season with a 4-3 victory over Lilli Pilli! After moving up from B grade and losing two of their strikers to reps, the team has had a tough season but that hasn’t stopped them from putting in the work at training and trying their best each week. Congratulations girls!

Thank you to everyone who sent in a nomination. This week’s honourable mentions go to Alyssa who volunteered to play two games in one day to help out the W8Bs and Mia from the W15Cs for scoring her first ever goal after playing her heart out every single week!

Thank you to everyone who sent in a nomination! Who will be our next Brumby of the Week? To nominate a player, send a message to our Facebook page by 9pm Sunday with a photo as well as their name, team and why you think they should be crowned Brumby of the Week.
