Tips of the week…

⚽️ Match sheet errors are costing us 😩

Coaches and Managers, please double-check your Match Sheets this weekend. Last week we had infringements for 3 MiniRoos teams and 2 Senior teams. That’s actual fines paid by the club.

Please make sure you’ve got Coach, Manager and Ground Control listed on there, plus shirt numbers (for senior teams), any borrowed players and then sign it. Check this Match Sheet Guide for reference.

⚽️ No shin pads, no game

This is a friendly reminder that you’ve got to wear shin pads every time you step onto the field. And that includes training. It’s a simple rule to keep everyone safe from injuries, so make sure you’ve got your shin pads on every time. Coaches, please remind your teams!

⚽️ No watches, jewellery, earrings when you play

Referees have been told to look out for players wearing jewellery during games. So they’ll be checking. Please make sure you take off all watches, jewellery, earrings, necklaces and anything similar. Again, it’s to protect players from injury so look after yourself and others. Coaches, please pass this on too.

⚽️ Secondhand boots up for grabs

If you’re on the hunt for a new pair of boots and you’d like to save a few dollar-bucks, check out the second hand boot bin at Billa Oval. There are usually a few pairs of pre-loved boots waiting to be claimed by a new owner. They’re all free, first in best dressed.

And if you’ve got a nice pair of boots that no longer fit, donate them to our boot bin and help out a fellow Brumby. If you can’t find the boot bin, just grab a Committee Member and they’ll help you out.

🎉🎉🎉 Trivia Night 24th June 🎉🎉🎉

Let’s get together and have some fun…

Brumbies Trivia Night

Tickets will be $40 each or $350 for a table of ten.

We’re excited to finally get the Brumbies Community back together again for a few laughs and a bit of fun.

There will be some fantastic prizes to be won and of course one team will be crowned the Brumbies Trivia Champions for 2023. Will it be you?

Start organising your table and look out for ticket info on Facebook and right here in the newsletter.

Zero Tolerance for Antisocial Behaviour

You probably heard about an incident that took place recently in a local football match in the Bankstown District Amateur Football Association (BDAFA) between Greenacre Eagles and Padstow Hornets.

The matter is now the subject of a police investigation and Football NSW will not make any further comment at this time.

This incident serves as a timely reminder for all Brumbies that antisocial behaviour by any players, members or supporters will not be tolerated in our club, whether that’s on the field, off the field or at the training park.

Announcements…

Coach’s Shirts are here! The medium size Coach’s shirts that were on backorder have now arrived. Check the Coach’s pigeon holes at Billa this weekend if you haven’t got your shirt yet.

Coach the Coaches. We’ll be holding a training session for coaches, hosted by Eddie, our incredible Academy Coach on Monday 29th May. Please let us know via the Facebook page if you have any requests for drills or skills you’d like Eddie to cover in the session.

Tell us what Brumbies Merch you want. It’s time to restock the Brumbies shop, so let us know what you’d like to wear this winter. We can get hoodies, hats, jackets and more. What else should we get? Jump onto our Facebook page and let us know what kind of gear you think we should offer.

Congrats to the U15As on winning their first State Cup match! The State Cup is a state-wide knock out competition run by Football NSW which attracts over 500 entries each season. With the score level at 1-1 after extra time, the boys held their nerve to win 5-4 on penalties against Collaroy Cromer Strikers Football Club. Well done lads!

West Bromwich Albion Foundation Holiday Program at Bangor

This a very exciting opportunity coming to Bangor FC in the July school holidays.

West Bromwich Albion Foundation is coming to Bangor to run holiday programs exclusively for our Brumbies members. Bangor FC is the only club in the Shire that will have access to this program from West Brom.

  • 4 x Qualified professional coaches from England (2 male, 2 female)
  • Open only to Bangor FC players aged 6–14
  • 9 hours of training across two days: 13th and 14th July
  • Hosted at Billa Oval

Who is West Bromwich Albion FC?

West Bromwich Albion Football Club is an English professional football club based in West Bromwich, West Midlands, England. They compete in the EFL Championship, the second tier of English football. The club was formed in 1878 and has played at its home ground, The Hawthorns, since 1900.

Who is West Bromwich Albion Foundation?

The Albion Foundation is the official partner of West Bromwich Albion FC and aims to create a proud Albion Family, engaged, inspired and reaching its potential.

They use the power of football to make a positive difference in three key focus areas of Wellbeing, Behaviour Change and Active Lifestyles.

How do I sign up?

We will let you know very soon how you can sign up and how much it will cost. If you are interested, keep an eye out because places will be limited. And remember, we are the only club in the Shire that will have this opportunity, so make sure you jump at it when the sign up is announced.

Ground Control Roster for Round #7

Thanks again to all the extra hands that help to keep the Brumbies running every week. As a community football club, run entirely by volunteers, it’s up to all of us to pitch in and do our bit to keep things going.

So thank you! Thank you!

Without your help there would be no football (or bacon!).

You can view the Ground Control roster on the website linked below.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding Ground Duty, please contact our Draw Secretary Michael Hulskamp (draw_secretary@bangorbrumbies.org.au) as soon as possible.

You can view the Ground Control here

Brumby of the week!

Our Brumby of the Week for Round 6 is Shannon from WSBs!

Shannon drove back from the South Coast especially for the game and played an absolute blinder, anchoring the midfield with her fancy footwork and some great passing. Keep up the good work Shannon!

This week’s honourable mention goes to the W6D-1s for always trying their best.

Who will be our next Brumby of the Week? To nominate a player, send a message to our Facebook page by 9pm Sunday with a photo as well as their name, team and why you think they should be crowned Brumby of the Week.
