What to do if it’s raining
Monday to Friday Training
During the week, the responsibility for ground closures lies with the Sutherland Shire Council.
The Council runs a wet weather line (02) 9710 0105 that confirms if the grounds are open or closed. In the event of wet weather, coaches and managers must call this number to check if grounds are open for training.
Please note: The club will sustain heavy fines from the council if a team is caught training whilst the grounds are closed.
Weekend Games
On a weekend, the responsibility for ground closures lies with the Sutherland Shire Football Association. The SSFA determines field conditions by asking each club to report on the state of their grounds to the SSFA by 7am on Saturday/Sunday morning.
If too many grounds are unplayable, the SSFA will declare a washout, close all grounds and cancel play for the day.
If a washout is declared, the Bangor FC Committee will communicate this to coaches and managers via SMS. Coaches and managers must then pass on this message to their players/parents.
Coaches and managers, please note; Unless you are advised by the BFC Committee of a washout you should assume that all games are going ahead as planned.
