BRUMBIES NEWS

Shire Premier League, Meat Raffles and more!

Another big weekend of football is here!

If you’re in the area this Sunday, be sure to head over to The Ridge at 10:00am and cheer on our Women’s Premier League side as they take on Como Jannali. With our Brumbies just one point ahead of Como on the ladder, it’s sure to be a tight contest.

Don’t forget we are also still on the lookout for new members to join our committee in the role of Grounds Officer and General Committee Member. If you are interested in joining or would like to learn more, please contact the BFC Secretary Kirsten (secretary@bangorbrumbies.org.au) or speak with one of our friendly committee members this weekend!

Let’s go Brumbies!

📢 Calling all MiniRoos coaches!

Time is running out to enrol in our Miniroos (Grassroots) Coaching Course!

The MiniRoos certificate is a 3-hour course and the perfect way to get up to speed with best practice for coaching MiniRoos footballers. Coaches will learn practical coaching skills, get a refresher on MiniRoo-specific rules and be shown how to engage kids with fun games and activities that will help them develop fundamental movement skills and fall in love with the game of football.

The course is run by the SSFA and is FREE for all Bangor FC MiniRoos Coaches.

Shire Premier League – Match Report

After a trial game with a less than favourable result against this week’s opposition the team knew they were in for a tough game. Unfortunately this wasn’t enough to spur Bangor into action with a slow start seeing them down by two goals early on.

However, instead of letting their heads drop the girls stepped up, stopping Miranda from creating more easy chances and producing great passages of passing to get their own chances in front of goal. While they weren’t able to capitalise on these, it’s already clear that the team is getting better week on week and will continue to grow in the competition.

A very well deserved player of the match went to Cathryn for using her pace to apply pressure in both attack and defence, fighting hard to win every ball.

Our Brumbies of the Week for Round 3 are Hunter and Xavier from U6Cs!

After a bright and early game against Lilli Pilli, Hunter and Xavier headed straight over to Woolooware to help out the U7C-2s who only had three players of their own. Braving the wet and windy conditions, all five boys gave it their all and were rewarded at the end of the game with some sugary snacks. Great club spirit boys!

This week’s honourable mentions go to Jon, Coach of the U10Gs, for doing a great job, Bethany from the W10Cs for an outstanding game in attack and the U7Fs for a big win with no reserves.

Thank you to everyone who sent in a nomination! Who will be our next Brumby of the Week? To nominate a player or team, send a message to our Facebook page by 9am Monday with a photo, name, team and why you think they should be crowned Brumby of the Week.
