BRUMBIES NEWS

State Cup, Training Academy and more!

It’s that time of week again!

We’d like to start by giving a big shout out to our U16As who will kick off their 2024 State Cup campaign with a match against Auburn District this Sunday. This is the teams second year in the competition and we wish them the best of luck for the journey ahead. Our WPL team will also be participating in this year’s State Cup with their campaign kicking off in two weeks time.

Today is also the start of Female Football Week, a nationwide initiative that celebrates women and girls in football. If you have a story you think we should share this Female Football Week, send us a message via our Facebook page or contact our Social Media Manager Emily (communications_assistant@bangorbrumbies.org.au).

Let’s go Brumbies!

Shire Premier League – Match Report

Round 5 vs. Como Jannali

0 – 1 Loss

Despite the result, Bangor produced one of their best games of the season so far, enjoying the majority of possession and creating chance after chance but just failing to get that breakthrough goal.

It is great to see the girls improve week on week and make the most of the increased competition.

Our Brumbies of the Week for Round 4 are the W6B-2s!

The W6B-2s displayed great teamwork and sportsmanship in what was a tight match against Georges River. With the scores level at half time thanks to a late Georges River equaliser, the girls turned to their coach for encouragement who reminded them “Well that can happen, remember we don’t give up.” With big smiles, a superb second half effort resulted in the W6B-2s securing a 6-5 victory. Great work girls!

This week’s honourable mentions go to Ruby from the W16Bs for her amazing effort in goals which helped secure a win for her team and the W12Bs for their excellent 2-1 win over Gymea whilst a player down.

Who will be our next Brumby of the Week? To nominate a player or team, send a message to our Facebook page by 9am Monday with a photo, name, team and why you think they should be crowned Brumby of the Week.
